So because Hna. Gonzalez was sick all of last week, one of the hermana leaders came and worked with me while Hna. Gonzalez hung out with the Relief Society president. It was definitely interesting in the beginning because Hna Herrera served for 10 months in Loma Linda, and she already knew a ton of people that we were contacting in the streets. It was a little hard to adjust to teaching with her because she talks a lot. No really a lot. It was kind of frustrating in the beginning, but then I realized that I wasn't being very humble and that I could learn a lot from her. After I changed my attitude and the way I looked at the lessons, I really learned a ton. I was super tired by Sunday though. I think the only thing that kept me awake was how cold it is here.
We had an investigator at church again! It's not the same one from last week :( but Nora, the investigator that went this Sunday, is so good. She actually told us to come by when she is going to have a get-together at her house because she wants us to teach her friends and family. The thing that makes all of this even better is that our first lesson with her was in Saturday afternoon! She only listened to us one time, and she went to church! I need to find more people like her.
We also have some investigators that have some real promise. One we contacted a couple weeks ago, but was always at the doctor's office when we went by because she was SUPER pregnant. Like her stomach was GINORMOUS. It moved like another entity (I have no idea if that is spelled right, so I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say). I had the impression that we should pass by for her one night. So we did, and she was there! She was waiting to go to the hospital for her C-section, so we taught her really fast, but she said that she wanted to read the Book of Mormon and go to church! We have to wait a bit for her to recover though. I can't wait to see her new little baby! Well from the size of her stomach, maybe the baby won't be so little.... Also we have someone else that lives pretty close to her, and she has a super cute 2 year old! She has little bangs and eveything!
I'm so grateful to be here! I have learned a ton from my mission, and I know I still have so much more to learn! Also yesterday I completed one year since I went through the temple, and I am so grateful that I lived my life in such a way that I can enter the temple. It really is God's house here on the Earth. Temples are evidence of how much Heavenly Father wants us to be eternal families, not just with our mom, dad, and siblings, but with our grandparents, and everyone that came before, and everyone that will come. I know that when we keep the temple in our minds and visit often, we can receive more blessings than we can imagine.
I love y'all!
