My name is Savannah Stevenson. I'm from Florida, and I'm leaving soon to go on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I decided I wanted to go on a mission in October of 2014. I spent the next couple months filling out papers to go on a mission. I got my call on January 2nd, 2015. At first, I was surprised to find out that I was going to the Mexico Reynosa Mission; for some reason, Mexico never crossed my mind as a possibility. However, as I have learned more about my mission, I have grown to love it and look forward to getting to know the people there. Whenever I see pictures on the Mision Mexico Reynosa facebook group, I feel how much Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love everyone there. I know that I am supposed to go on a mission; I've felt multiple times that it was the thing God wanted me to do. I know it will be tough, and I honestly wouldn't go, if it wasn't for me feeling so strongly that I needed to go. I know that I am doing the right thing for me at this time in my life. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ has filled my life with peace and hope, as I have gone through hard times. I want others to know that there is always hope, even in the darkest of places, because of Jesus Christ and His atonement. No matter how often or horribly I mess up and fall, I know He will always be there to catch me.

"Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the affections of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever. Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day." Alma 37:36-37
"Though we may feel we are “like a broken vessel,” as the Psalmist says, we must remember, that vessel is in the hands of the divine potter. Broken minds can be healed just the way broken bones and broken hearts are healed. While God is at work making those repairs, the rest of us can help by being merciful, nonjudgmental, and kind." "Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:37-39
