It's that wonderful time of the year again! La Canícula! If you don't know what that is, it's the time of year that is the hottest. But, now I'm already used to the heat, so I'm handling it a lot better than last year. But for real, I was in a room with the air conditioning at 75 degrees, and I was dying from the cold. Oh! Funny story of my ignorance so, the other day I was cooking with poblano pepper (it's really not that spicy), and my hands turned bright red and swelled up! We were throwing a ton of stuff on my hands in hopes that it would help with the burning sensation. In the end, I just had to wait for it to go away on its own. My hands felt like they were burning for about 5 hours. I thought you only had to be careful to not touch the really hot peppers! Turns out it's with all peppers. But now, I've learned my lesson, and I'm using gloves for now on when I cook with peppers.
Hermana Dávila and I are working really hard, and we are seeing some progress. On Tuesday, we went with our district leaders to teach one of their investigators. We were in the bus for about 45 minutes going to their area. It's so far away! Well not really, it's just that the bus takes forever. But it looks super cool. Now their investigator already quit smoking, and she's reading the Book of Mormon. The elders were so happy that we are going back again tomorrow, but with a different investigator. The zone is working together really well; we all support one another.
I was thinking about that a bit. It's important that everyone works together, because when we work together we are unified. When we are unified, we have the Holy Ghost with us more, and through the Holy Ghost, our investigators have spiritual experiences. Through spiritual experiences, our testimonies grow and we progress. As we progress, we become more like our Savior Jesus Christ and we draw closer to our Heavenly Father. We should strive to continually draw closer to Heavenly Father, so that one day we with be worthy, through Christ's atonement, to enter into His presence and stay there with our families. I know that it's possible through the gospel and Jesus Christ.
I love y'all!
