After 7 months in the same area, I got the call that it's time to go...... all the way to San Jose! Hermana Moreno is going to be my companion again! I'm super excited and sad because I have to leave this wonderful area with wonderful people, but I know after 7 months here, it's time to go. I'm also kind of excited because San Jose is a lot smaller, so I won't be walking so much! I'll finally be able to bust out my nicer shoes! But saying goodbye to everyone at church on Sunday was so hard! I almost cried about 5 times because I love these people so much! Saying goodbye to Hermano Miguel about killed me because he's like my grandpa here. I also teared up saying goodbye to Angel, my convert. Today we visited Miguel Angel and bought some food from him. (he sells tacos and subs that are the best!) When we were leaving, he said "In the beginning, when I first started listening to you, it was like a game. But now, it's all different. Now I know without a single doubt that all of this is true." He really has changed a lot since I first met him, and I know he's changed because of the gospel. I sound like a crybaby, but I almost cried when he said that; I just felt the Spirit so strong. For the first time in 8 months Hermana Palmer and I aren't going to be living in the same house, but we'll still see each other each Sunday. She's going to Puerta del Sol, and Puerta del Sol and San Jose share the same church building.
So this week Miguel Angel came with us to visit someone, but they weren't there. We were going to go back, but he said, "I want to knock doors with you two." Hermana Ramirez and I were really shocked, because no one likes to knock doors. The missionaries mainly do it because if they don't do it how will they ever find people to help out. So we went and knocked doors with him, and I'm not going to lie, he is really good at it. He is really good at making people feel comfortable talking to him.
This week I was thinking a lot about how the Lord knows each of us perfectly. He knows our strengths, our weaknesses, our hopes, and our fears. Heavenly Father knows everything about us, every detail in our lives, and He still loves us with an infinite love. A love the surpasses understanding. A love that includes every imperfection. The other day the talk from Elder Jeffrey R. Holland, "Like a Broken Vessel" came to my mind. Thought we feel like broken vessels, broken by affliction and sin, in the hands of the master potter, in Christ's hands we can be formed into something more amazing than we can imagine. I know this is true. I know that if we put everything into the Lord's hands, He will lift us up from the deepest depths. No where is out of reach for the Lord. I have felt His love, and I know that it is something very real. If you don't know that God's love is something real, get down on your knees and pray with your whole heart until you do know or at least feel it. Because it is something definitely worth feeling and knowing.
I love y'all!
