Fernanda, Maria's daughter, got baptized on Saturday!! Turns out she got her answer that she should get baptized on Sunday last week, but she didn't tell us anything until Friday! She told us that she felt really good after her baptism. During a lesson with her, I felt really impressed that Fernanda will go on a mission. It made me really excited! We are going to work hard to encourage her to prepare for that. Also Maria and Fernanda got confirmed when Elder Salinas, one of the Seventy, came and gave a bomb talk!! I filled up three days of notes from his talk!! That says a lot! Maria and Fernanda were super excited after hearing it and feeling the Spirit. What a great Sunday to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost! I'm sure that they were feeling it really strong. I'm sure it helped them understand that baptism really is just the start of a bunch of wonderful experiences. We also found a few really cool people to teach this week! One of them even started talking about going to church and getting baptized before we could mention it! It was a nice little miracle to have after spending hours outside knocking doors, well more like knocking gates, and talking to everyone.
I have so many things I want to share with you! I really wish that I had more time and patience to write it all out! Something that a member said is that we should all work together so that the conversion of someone isn't just one picture of a baptism. When he said that I thought, "I don't want just one picture of a baptism. I want that picture to be the start of other pictures; going to the temple, receiving callings, ward activities, mission calls, mission pictures. temple marriages, kids' baptisms, and on and on and on." I want every single one of my converts to have these pictures. I know that this gospel is true! I know it is the same gospel that was given to man from God the beginning, and I know that it is the same gospel that Jesus Christ taught. I know it helps us receive all the blessings that our Heavenly Father has prepared for us and wants to give us. People recently have been asking us why we are missionaries. They think we are being paid or that we receive a degree or something. I don't get anything but blessings and wonderful experiences. But you want to know why I'm here in a different country, speaking a different language that I didn't know before, under the hot Mexican desert sun, sweating like a pig? It's because I know that this is true! I know that God loves us! He leads us and guides us today! He has established the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as His church and has restored the gospel in its fulness! Through living that very same gospel, we can be blessed eternally with our families! There is no other message more important than this! That God and His Son, Jesus Christ our Savior, live today and work today to help and save us! I wish everyone can know this and live according to it! That is why I am here, doing what I am doing!
I love y'all!
