I'm going to start this with my funny experience for the week. Taxi drivers and the people that sell clothes have been overcharging me and my companions because they just look at me and know I'm American, and one day I was sick of it, so I said, "I'm going to dye my hair!" I even bought a hair dye of a nice brown because I was too scared to dye it black. BUT when I dried my hair after dying it, my hair was EVEN LIGHTER!!!! Almost strawberry blonde... Now I'm paying EVEN MORE for taxis!!!!! I'm so tired of this.... The good thing is a member is doing me a favor and bringing me better hair dye. What this taught me is always, ALWAYS, check the color before you put it in all of your hair. But this week was great aside from paying more for taxis. Our investigator that was super sure about his baptism didn't get baptized because his family took a surprise emergency trip, but it's ok because he is getting baptized tomorrow night. I also have news. Once again, I have transfers and I'm once again going somewhere very far away...the other room in the house like the last time! Hna Godoy goes home tomorrow after a year and a half, so I'm taking her place and Hna Gonzalez is going to my companion again! I'm kind of really excited because we were like best friends when we were separated. I'm going to be in the same ward, but I'll be visiting a completely different set of investigators and I'll be in a new district and new zone. I'll be in the same zone as Hna Palmer and Elder Howell; they were in my district in the CCM! Also I'll still be living with Hna Lopez and she arrived at Reynosa with me. It's kind of funny that our paths are crossing again. Also today we had an activity between the hermanas in Reynosa to celebrate the Hna Portillo's and Hna Gonzalez' birthdays and say goodbye to Hna Godoy. We play a ton of sports, and man, I need to work on my exercise because I'm whooped. (do you even spell whooped like that??? I hope you understand me) The good thing is that I'm going to get a lot better at soccer in this new zone because they play soccer every. Monday. without. fail. They really are soccer fans.
I was thinking a lot about the mission and what it's taught me this week because I'm getting close to finishing a year. The feeling I get every time I think about it, gratitude just fills me to the brim. I'm so grateful that I have this time here to serve the Lord and the people of Reynosa. It's crazy to think that two years ago I was very decided against going on a mission. I'm so grateful that the Lord took the time to change my heart and prompt me to serve Him as a representative of His Son Jesus Christ. I know I'm far from perfect, but I also know that I if I submit myself to doing God's will, He will shape me and help me achieve my true potential. All of this is possible because we have a loving Heavenly Father who knows us personally and a Savior who sacrificed Himself for us. I know this is true, and I hope and pray that you do too.
I love y'all!
