This past week we had the ward Christmas party and the mission Christmas activity. They were both really fun, and we had two families that we are teaching show up to the ward Christmas party! My companion and I were running around like crazy to make sure everyone was all good and were having a good time. At the ward party, we had turkey, tamales, and spagetti, and it was really good. One of the miracles we had this week happened right before the ward Christmas party. One of our investigatores needs to get married, and her boyfriend wants to get married soon, but she wasn't so sure about it. So we were teaching her in the church before the ward party started, and we asked her about what she thought about marriage, and she said that she changed her mind and she is going to talk to her boyfriend about it! Also, her 9 year old, twin brother, and sister-in-law loved the ward activity! Ana, who just got baptized, brought almost her whole family to the ward activity and to church on Sunday! Her oldest son still doesn't want to talk to us, but Ana is working really hard to get her family to accept the gospel.
The mission Christmas activity was really fun! I got to see my old companions and other missionaries that were transferred out of my area. Every time we have a mission activity, I realize how many elders there are and how few hermanas there are. The office elders made a video of them lipsyncing to christmas songs, and I about died laughing. I hope they put it up on the mission website, so I can watch it again. At the end of the activity, one of the elders put on a Santa suit, and gave up our presents from Presidente and Hermana Morales. They took pictures of it, and some of the pictures with the elders are really funny. This is the last Christmas Presidente and Hermana Morales have in Reynosa. In six months, they are going to finish up, and we're going to get a new president of the mission.
Yesterday we were teaching one of our investigators, and it came to my mind that we didn't ask her how she felt when she was reading the Book of Mormon, so I asked her. Oh my goodness! The Spirit was so strong; she said that she felt really good and that her problems seemed smaller when she was reading. She said she talked with her mom and told her that she knows this is the true church because of how she feels when she reads the Book of Mormon and how she feels when we come by. Wow! The only problem now is for her to get married. Also her sister, who just got a new job, got her new schedule, and she doesn't work on Sunday! I was praying a lot for that.
I love my mission! I love the people here! I know that the gospel is true, and it has given me so much joy in my life! I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ live today and are very interested in our lives. They want to us to be happy, really truly happy, and that only comes through living the gospel is Jesus Christ. We always will have hard times, but with a faithful heart and God, all things are possible.
I love y'all!
