We also had a lot of splits, aka intercambios, this week. One day, I was Hermana Palmer's companion for the morning, while her companion was in a leadership meeting. I was a little bit nervous because we both are learning spanish and our way around our area still, but it went surprisingly well. We had a lesson with someone we contacted, and we were able to understand her questions and answer them without a problem. This lady had a ton of questions, which is good, because it means she is on some level interested in what we are saying. Also, on Friday, we had intercambios again. Hermana Godoy and Hermana Gonzales, who are in San Jose, traded places with Hermana Herrera and Hermana Monson. Hermana Godoy was with my companionship, and she is a good missionary, but it's a bit more difficult to understand her because she has a different accent because she is from Honduras.
Saturday was Hermana Moreno's birthday, so in the evening we went over to one of her convert's house and had pizza and pie. It was so good. Some of her other converts, two boys about 10 and 12 from a big family, came by for a few minutes and it was pretty fun. I gave Hermana Moreno my nutella because she LOVES nutella. I tried singing happy birthday in the morning, but I couldn't make it all the way through because we both started laughing too much. I think tonight at the meeting there will be some cake for Hermana Moreno too.
Also this week I felt like I was walking in a really humid oven. My water bottle literally can hold a half gallon. I drink at least 3/4 of a gallon everyday, because I am sweating so much. But the canicula ends this month and it won't be as hot once it's over. I'm currently trying to apply Alma 31:38 in my life right now, because it talks about how all our afflicitions can be swallowed up in the joy of Christ. I know that this is true because when I'm teaching I don't feel the pain in my feet or in my shoulders. I don't feel the heat from the sun; all I feel is happiness from that I'm here. I know that the Lord loves the people here, and that is why I'm here, because my purpose is to help others find the joy they can have being closer to God.
Until next week!
