This week was really cold, but it was also great, so it's ok. I ate ssssssssssssssoooooooooooooo much food on New Year's Eve and on New Year's. On New Year's Eve, we ate with Juan Carlos and his family, Hermano Miguel (he's a convert of Hna Palmer, and he invites us to his house almost every Monday. He's like my mission grandpa) Hna Jeny, and Presidente Martinez! Everything was so good, but I was stuffed! We had our weekly planning that day too, so we only had a couple hours to work. Then on New Year's, we ate with the Molina Family (tamales! They were so good!) and then later we went to Juan Carlos' house for dinner. I met Hna Diamond and Hna Swicher (I have no idea if I spelled her name right); they were missionaries here and came back to visit their converts and the members.
So I got a call on Saturday night, and I'm going somewhere really far........ the other room in the house. I'm changing from Loma Linda 2 to Loma Linda 3. Basically Hna Palmer and I are switching companions. I'm kind of sad; I'm not going to lie. I really love my investigators and my companion. I feel like we are really good friends now and we had to work to get to that point. However, I'll still be able to see my investigators on sunday at church! I feel like the Lord was waiting for Hna Gonzalez and I to learn from each other, and now we did, and it's time for me to learn from Hna Ramierez. It's actually really funny what happened. The elders always make jokes about cambios, so the phone call started out normal, they made a joke and we called them out. Then they said the real transfer, but we didn't believe them because they kept mixing up the names. We, thinking it was a joke, said that if it was true, we would buy the district leader tacos, but if it wasn't he would have to buy us tacos. So when we show up in the office, the elders are making jokes and asking where are their tacos. We didn't believe the assistants to the president when they told us, because they're friends with our district leader, so they had to take us into the president's office and show us the board with all the transfers. Then we were making a bunch of jokes about the tacos. The elders told us that we really didn't have to buy the tacos, but we did anyway and brought them to the office. When we left, it was really quiet, until the door closed and then we heard them fighting over who gets to eat the tacos.
Well, this next week will be interesting with all new investigators. We're going to see how good my memory is and how much patience I have. However, I know that it's time to change, even though I don't want to. In the end, it will be good for me. I know that the Lord is in charge of this work, so everything works out in the end. I know that the Lord loves the people here, and I do too.
I love y'all!
