This week was kind of an emotional rollercoaster. I was sick on Christmas Eve, so that wasn't fun, but the members here are so great. We had turkey on Christmas and tamales the day after. Usually in Mexico tamales are the food for Christmas, but here is the frontera, so it's a mix here of turkey and tamales. I love it because I get the holidays from home and the holidays of Mexico.
I got to talk to my family on Christmas! That easily was the highlight of my week. I never realized that my family had strong southern accents until I was talking to them. I think that's because I had a southern accent before.... It was nice to talk with them, even if it was only for a little bit. I got to tell them about some of the things that are different here. My companion got about 10 minutes into her video call with her family, and the internet went down, so she got to finish up the call on Sunday.
Gael, Kevin, and Cristian were in Texas over the weekend and didn't go to church this Sunday, so we have to push their baptisms back for them to have enough church attendences. We didn't know that they were going to leave, because I was sick when we have an appointment with them. Their phone also broke, so we couldn't call them. It was a little stressful because we came by to take them to the baptismal interviews, and no one was home. We went by Sunday night to see if they already came back, and they did! I about cried I was so happy.
I was thinking this week a lot about how Heavenly Father knows each and everyone of us perfectly, and how he created a great plan to help us learn, so one day we can be like Him. But we can't do this all on our own, and that's why we have a Savior, who is Jesus Christ the Only Begotten Son. Through Christ, all that's wrong in life will be made right.
I love y'all! Happy New Year!
