Well this week was pretty good. The canícula ended, but now we are in the canículita. Basically it's just a few degrees under melt-your-face hot. This week we found some really great people. We got a referral to a youth that went to FSY, the equivalent to EFY, and she is AMAZING! In the first lesson, she had a brand new Book of Mormon with a card that we gave her to show her where to read. The second lesson, a few days later, she showed where she read in the Book of Mormon, and it was all highlighted and she had a bunch of post-its that she put in. We also taught a friend of a youth in the ward, and when we showed up to the house the mom told us that she was cooking to invite us to eat dinner with them. They are a really great family! Also something funny happened. I was helping my convert's brother with his english, and he asked me how to say the time in english. Everything that I tried to remember sounded SO WRONG! I forgot the right way to say12:08 pm! I remembered after about 20 minutes after we left my convert's house. At least I think I remember the right way....
This week I learned a lesson in the importance to show our love for others. A lot of the time we feel love for others but we forget to show it! I learned that it really makes a difference to take a little bit of time to express our love. Also the Lord reminded me of what I had learned about faith. Faith isn't knowing everything, it isn't something that comes from knowledge but rather it is a confident hope that God keeps His promises. In the scriptures it sometimes uses the phrase "unbreakable faith." Before I never thought much of that phrase, but now I understand that our faith isn't something soft or flexible, it should be firm, strong, and unyielding. Our faith should be unbreakable, because it is something that God has given us with. God doesn't give gifts that aren't meant to last. He gives eternal gifts, spiritual gifts. I invite all of you to strengthen your faith this week and strive to make your faith unbreakable. If you strive diligently to do this, God will see your effort and bless you with this wonderful gift, in His time and in His way.
I love y'all!
