My advice for opening an area is to always have your map and always be excited. This week was probably the most exhausting week in my mission. Hermana Moreno and I were sleeping really good because we were so tired at the end of the day. But it was also SO COOL to see all the miracles that were happening! I love this new ward Valle Alto! It's so big and the members are so happy that we are there! Our first lesson in Valle Alto was with someone that is PURE GOLD! She was going to go to church, but got sick and had to go to the hospital to see her doctor there. A lot of the doctors' offices are part of the hospitals here; it's a little weird... BUT she is going to go to church next week and bring her family too. Her daughter was in a lesson with us too, and the two of them already believe in the Restoration. Also Yazmin got confirmed! (She received the Gift of the Holy Ghost, the right to have the Holy Ghost with you all the time, if you live worthy.) She is now officially a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! Hermana Moreno and I went to her confirmation on Sunday, and we were all so happy! Yazmin's stomach is getting even bigger! I'm amazed that she doesn't fall over. She only 6 1/2 months! She's going to get HUGE before the baby is born in the beginning of May.
When I was reading this week I came across a quote from President Uchtdorf and it said, "Impatience, on the other hand, is a symptom of selfishness. It is a trait of the self-absorbed." Well talk about being direct. This quote really hit me... I'm not the most patient person in the world, and this quote made me reflect a lot about my attitude. It's completely true. I made a goal to focus more on others. Later it talks about how if we feel the Savior's love for others, then we have more patience. In the story of Job, when he was passing through so many trials, he never got mad and blamed God, because he loved God. This love enabled him to bear his trials with patience. These weeks that follow, I'm going to work on feeling God's love for others and practicing patience, and I'd like to invite all of y'all to join me. Even though a lot of y'all already are patient, we can all benefit from trying to develope Christ-like attributes.
I love y'all!
