This week flew by and dragged on forever all at once. Today, my district and another district had to go to the migration office to get something for our visas. The driving in Mexico is so bad; I will never complain about Provo Utah drivers again! There aren't really any lanes, and people almost hit you as they change lanes. However, we didn't get into any accidents, so that was good. On the way back, we drove past the some really pretty buildings. One of them was the National Museum of Architecture. In the middle of the city, there is this huge park that was absolutely beautiful.
So funny story, for two days Hermana Palmer and I didn't have any electricity in our room or bathroom. We had to blow dry our hair in the hallway. Hermana Palmer had a little lantern thing, so we were fine. It was pretty funny, but I'm really happy our electricity is back. Also, one night Hermana Palmer and I noticed we had a ton of mosquitoes in our room. We had left the windows open, and one of the screens has a big hole in it that we didn't notice before. Now, we just deal with the heat, because the bugs keep us up at night.
Despite the bugs and the lack of electricity for a bit, the week has been pretty good. Yesterday, we had a really good experience teaching Marisela. When our teacher Hermana Dominguez was giving us feedback from it, she said somethings we really needed to hear. I feel like Hermana Palmer's and my teaching is getting a lot better. We are teaching two new investigators: Marisela and Santos. Our first lesson with Santos was so good. I actually teared up during it; I felt the Spirit so strong. While we still struggle with Spanish, I feel like I'm getting so much better at it. I still make a lot of mistakes, but I know the Lord approves of my efforts to learn Spanish, so I can be a good missionary.
This last Sunday was fast Sunday, and I was really worried about fasting for a full 24 hours. I usually feel really lightheaded and have to eat after a bit, but I fasted the whole 24 hours. I only felt hungry a couple times, and I had energy to do the things I needed to do. It really was a tender mercy. Also, on Friday, we got to watch Elder L. Tom Perry's funeral. It was sad, but I know he is with God now. I hope that one day, I can be half as good as a missionary that he was.
I love it here, and I have grown so much over the past couple weeks. I can't even imagine how much I will grow over the next 18 months! I love all of you!
Until next week!
