Well this week was a lot of work! The mission president and his wife had a meeting with all the converts from the last year, so a lot of our time this week was spent looking for these converts (the hermanas before us worked really hard). I really like working with Hna Gonzalez. She teaches REALLY WELL. I'm never bored in the lessons because Hna Gonzalez brings the Spirit like nothing else. We were contacting a ton this week because Hna Gonzalez and Hna Godoy baptized everyone that they were teaching. I also got to see Jorge get baptized!! I seriously care a lot for this kid. He's going to be an amazing missionary; he already talks about it!
My new zone is CRAZY! One zone leader is calm and really centered, and the other is a fast talking energizer bunny who I can't tell if he is being serious or joking sometimes. Also my district leaders are about the same, one calm one and the other crazy. Hna Palmer and Elder Howell are in my zone too, and its really weird, but also really great to see them all the time. Hna Gonzalez and I together we have a weird thing that every time we contact we find members that don't go to church anymore. So now we are using this to teach a bunch of part member families to help them became eternal families. We had really great lesson on Sunday with the husband of a member. He said that he had lived his life so far away from God, that he didn't think it was possible to change. We testified that God is our loving Heavenly Father and that He wants all of us to come back to Him. We felt the Spirit really strong in this lesson, and he felt it too. He almost cried at one point.
Something that I've learned one my mission is that the Lord always keeps His promises. Sometimes when things happen in our lives we get discouraged, but these are the times that we need to remember deuteronomy 31:8 "And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." There are countless other scriptures like it, because God really IS our Father in Heaven, and like a loving father, He will guide, protect, and be with His children in all their good efforts. The Lord does not forget or forsake us, He waits until the time is right to bless us and fulfill His promises. It might take time, but it will always happen if we are faithful to the end.
I love y'all!
